The key aim of our charity is to open Scotland's First UK Drop-In Neurocare Centre Just like Englands First Neurocare Centre.
Though the success of my website has gained national recognition and won me prestigious awards for contribution in this field, I am painfully aware that the acute shortage of after care facilities for brain haemorrhage, brain tumour, traumatic brain injury, and epilepsy sufferers throughout Scotland, cannot be compensated by a website, no matter how successful it is operated, therefore my colleagues and I have instituted the charity 'Brain Help' for the specific purpose of funding the establishment of 'Drop-In Neurocare Centres' throughout the UK.
These 'Drop-In' centres will be designed to offer Brain injury victims and families specialized after care and rehabilitation facilities, regardless of ethnical, racial, cultural, age or financial background, with the first of these centres being earmarked for the Aberdeen area. Each centre will be staffed by qualified medical and advisory personnel who will offer a range of benefits such as :
Information library, Emotional support, Benefit advice, Relaxation therapies, Meeting rooms, Internet training centres, Acupuncture treatment, Massage and other services essential to the rehabilitation process.
These are a prime example in cancer care. Maggie's Centres "Maggie's is the jewel in the crown for providing cancer support" Mike Dixon, Surgeon, Western General Hospital Edinburgh.
This is a major undertaking, and one that cannot be achieved without the generosity and support of all sectors of the Scottish business community as well as recognition from the general public, and we are hopeful that you will appreciate the validity and vital necessity of our undertaking and contribute meaningfully to our project to enable us accomplish our objectives as early as possible.

Great News Brain surgery services are to be kept in hospitals across Scotland after a panel of experts rejected a plan to centralise care. The case for cutting the number of units, which threatened the status of several high-profile hospitals, is overturned today with the publication of the official report into the proposal. The review for the Scottish Government deals another blow to the centralising agenda within the NHS.
It concludes "there is no clear evidence" to support the strategy of concentrating treatment currently offered in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee into one unit. Campaigners Delighted

Moving Stories This exhibition tells the inspiring stories of ten Scots who have, through campaigning for change, made a difference in a devolved Scotland. Find out more about Gemma Mackintosh, who campaigned on behalf of young people with visual impairments, and Walter Baxter, who campaigned to stop the closure of specialist units caring for people with brain injuries.
You can hear the stories of Gemma and Walter, and those of Amal Azzudin, Rebecca Brown, Claire Ewing, Tina McGeever, John Macleod, John Muir, Reverend Iain MacDonald and Bob Reid in their own words. Each has a story to tell about democracy in action.
